Governor Issues Executive Order to Better Align Workforce Programs

Governor Kitzhaber has issued an Executive Order (attached below) calling for increased alignment of federal and state workforce programs to better serve Oregon's job seekers and businesses and he is directing local Workforce Investment Boards to lead the effort. In an environment of declining resources and increasing need for training and employment services, integrating and coordinating workforce programs is more important than ever. We fully support the Governor's vision and we will work closely with our business-led local Workforce Investment Board to ensure that his vision is implemented in the Portland region.
