Worksystems Awarded National Emergency Grant

Worksystems has been awarded a $529,837 National Emergency Grant from the US Department of Labor to assist 150 workers affected by the closure of one of Siltronic Corporation's manufacturing facilities at its plant in NW Portland. Working with a number of state and local partners, Worksystems lead the development of the grant and will administer the resources on behalf of Siltronic and the impacted workers. Grant resources will provide much needed training and support to help workers find new jobs in the area.
  
"This grant will enable workers to gain the skills they need to transition to available opportunities in the region," said Andrew McGough, Executive Director of Worksystems. "We know a lot of businesses are looking for qualified workers and connecting the training available through this grant with the needs of local industry is a win for both workers and employers."
