Barb is our Youth Services Manager. She oversees the portfolio of youth workforce programming including NextGen; a collection of community based organizations providing workforce development training and support to Opportunity Youth in the Regions; Youth Work Experience programs such as SummerWorks; Connect2 Careers, a young adult focused work readiness and job sourcing site; Sector Bridge Training, Opportunity Youth Job Fair and Re-engagement programming. She started with Worksystems in 2009.
Barb has over 20 years of youth workforce development experience and has worked in the public, private and non-profit sectors developing and implementing many successful programs aimed at helping connect youth to work and post-secondary education. She has a Master's in Public Administration from Portland State University.
Barb enjoys being outdoors, is a hiker (summited Mt Kilimanjaro in 2008) and runs competitive agility with her cute Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
