Patrick Gihring
Patrick is responsible for Worksystems’ program areas and operations including resource development, program development, program management and delivery, partnerships, and investments made by Worksystems in the community. He oversees Worksystems’ program departments and portfolio of programs serving the Portland Metro Area including one-stop services, youth services, community-based services, and employer services. He supports the Executive Director in implementing Worksystems’ strategic vision and plan and in representing the organization in the community. Patrick has over 20 years of experience in education, public administration, and workforce development. He has a Bachelor’s degree from The Evergreen State College and completed the Graduate Teacher Education Program at Portland State University. He joined Worksystems in 2008.
He previously worked at the City of Portland’s Bureau of Housing & Community Development administering the Economic Opportunity Initiative for low-income residents. He has also managed a Department of Labor grant to improve employment services to people with disabilities in Washington State’s One Stop system, and served as a high school teacher in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Patrick enjoys gardening, loves food carts, and is an avid fan of Portland’s local music scene.
