Youth from our SummerWorks program building a sail boat at the Wind & Oar Boat School; gaining confidence, reinforcing math and science skills and preparing for post secondary success in careers and college.
This new partnership between Worksystems and the Wind & Oar Boat School has resulted in a unique work experience for area at-risk youth. Participants spend 10 weeks building a sail boat and learn valuable soft skills such as communication, teamwork and problem solving. Math and environmental science are also embedded in the curriculum as well as exposure to a variety of tools and processes.
