News Release|

SEPTEMBER 23RD, 2021

Meet these outstanding participants from our SummerWorks program! SummerWorks is an initiative that provides work-readiness training and paid work experiences to area youth. For many, this is their first job.

These young people came to SummerWorks from POIC/Rosemary Anderson High School where they were enrolled in the Industry of Young Entrepreneurs program, an effort to provide coaching, mentoring, and structured activities to high school students who are interested in entrepreneurship. The program is designed to inspire, challenge, and empower students to become the next generation of business and community leaders.

Over the course of 6 months, students learn about the rewards and challenges of becoming an entrepreneur from mentors and experts who coach them through a hands-on, business-focused curriculum, culminating in a local business plan competition. Through a new partnership with SummerWorks, participants now also receive a business-related paid work experience as part of their experience.

We are proud to support these future entrepreneurs!
