October is Manufacturing month and over the past several years, Worksystems has partnered with regional workforce development agencies, schools, and employers to provide opportunities for youth to explore careers in manufacturing.
Once again, our local businesses are making themselves available for area students to come onto their production floors, stamping facilities and shipyards (to name a few places), and learn about the manufacturing pathways which exist as a way to build a career upon graduation. A full list of tour opportunities is in the booklet below.
Over the next decade, over 2 million manufacturing jobs are projected to go unfilled nationally and opportunities such as this for young people to learn about this dynamic industry will help to connect a future workforce to high paying, in-demand occupations.
