This industry report examines the workforce data, characteristics and trends that define the Construction sector within the Greater Portland-Vancouver area. With over 70,000 jobs and a payroll of $3.9 billion, Construction accounts for over 5 percent of the greater Portland region’s private-sector employment and 6 percent of total payroll. The Construction sector contributed approximately $6.8 billion to the metro area’s Gross Domestic Product in 2017. 

The 2018 report shows significant growth in the industry and indicates that workforce development efforts are helping to support its success.
