Many young people face significant challenges when seeking employment and building the life they aspire to. These challenges may include homelessness, involvement with the justice system, negative school experiences, or uncertainty about how to move forward. NextGen helps break down these barriers, empowering young people to focus on their future and take meaningful steps forward.

how it works

NextGen provides resources and guidance needed to succeed in the workforce and build a promising future. Youth are first matched with a Career Coach and then work toward meeting goals at their own pace.

Through NextGen, youth can:

Complete HS Diploma or GED

Explore a variety of careers & build a career plan

Gain on-the-job experience through a paid work experience

Start college or learn a trade

Earn a credential valued by employers in a variety of fields

By the time they finish the program, participants have achieved something big—whether it’s earning an industry-recognized credential, landing a new or better job, or enrolling in further education and training. 

Worksystems-sponsored NextGen programs achieved remarkable rankings in the state, placing 2nd in Credential Attainment and Employment or Education outcomes!
