Passed by the legislature in 2022, Future Ready Oregon was designed to address the economic challenges brought on by the pandemic. The program focuses its training resources on supporting populations facing employment barriers, including the long-term unemployed, underemployed, people of color, English language learners, individuals with disabilities, and low-income residents.

Future Ready Oregon’s 8 Components:

Worksystems, along with our sister Workforce Development Boards across the state, received the first portion of Future Ready Oregon funds in 2022. These funds were strategically invested in proven providers and programs within our network to expand capacity and enhance services for job seekers. A second round of Future Ready funds, received in early 2023, is being used to further build capacity among community partners and align with other competitive Future Ready grants to amplify their impact. This approach not only ensures immediate effectiveness but also supports the long-term sustainability of our community partners, enabling them to serve more people in the future.

Prosperity 10,000 (P10K)

A proven investment in training Oregon’s workforce, P10K enables us to expand services for job seekers in our region facing unique challenges. It supports career coaching, scholarships, work-based learning, stipends, and essential support services, while fostering local partnerships, innovative programs, and reducing employment barriers. It provides a key boost to our work through “fast-tracked” funding, leading to immediate scaling of wraparound services to those who need it most.

Workforce Benefit Navigator

Launched under Future Ready Oregon, this program connects communities of color, women, low-income and rural communities, veterans, people with disabilities, incarcerated or formerly incarcerated individuals, Oregon tribes, older adults, and LGBTQ+ individuals to workforce services. In the Portland Metro Region, navigators engage with these communities to link them to direct-hire training programs in early childhood education, behavioral health, semiconductors, banking, healthcare, and clean energy career coaching.

Workforce Ready Grants

Worksystems received two Workforce Ready Grants to support the innovative Quick Start to Semiconductor program, a 10-day training program that breaks down barriers to entry-level semiconductor jobs. It is the first program of its kind in Oregon and the most successful model nationally at creating access to entry-level semiconductor jobs without advanced degrees or previous work experience.
