When Layoffs Are Inevitable
Helping Laid–Off Workers Transition Successfully
If layoffs are unavoidable, The WorkSource Portland Metro Layoff Transition Assistance Team offers free, customized presentations to connect laid-off workers with essential public services. These expert-led sessions cover benefits and enrollment for resources like Unemployment Insurance, health coverage, and job training. Presentations typically last 1 – 1.5 hours and are scheduled at a mutually agreed-upon time. Worksystems helps to coordinate these sessions.
