Worksystems is partnering with Gateway to College and the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative to host a Youth Jobs Fair on April 13th aimed at helping disadvantaged youth re-connect with school and work. More than 30 Portland-based employers with immediate job opportunities will be hiring including Starbucks, OHSU, Portland Parks and Recreation, and Salt & Straw.
Youth will also be able to register for a paid internship through our SummerWorks program to participate in a work experience with an area employer that includes work readiness training.
The Jobs Fair will also feature:
- Opportunities to register for high school completion/GED programs
- Pre-apprenticeship training information
- Hands-on assistance completing job applications, writing a resume/cover letter, and practice interviewing
- Resources to help youth with barriers including transportation discounts, child care and housing information, assistance expunging records, and access to free job-related clothing.
This event is FREE for youth and open to the public. Registration begins March 12!
